Disk Doctors Email Recovery (.dbx) is a program to recover deleted e-mails from Outlook Express, which will also repair damaged .dbx files. These files are used by Outlook Express to store the folders that contain the e-mail messages.
You can easily perform the whole recovery process just by following the instructions of its simple wizard. You need to choose which identity is associated to the file you want to repair, the .dbx files you are interested in, the folder where you will save the repaired .dbx, and if you want the resulting data to be compressed or not. If the .dbx file you want to recover is not listed, you can press the "Browse" button and search for it yourself. Then, once you have selected what you want to recover, you just need to press the "Next" button. Email Recovery will then search for recoverable emails and will save them in the folder you specified (only three if you are using the unregistered version), under the generic filename “Recovered.dbx”. To import those messages into Outlook Express, all you will have to do is drag and drop the recovered .eml files into their respective folders.
